Possible fraud by Brawl of America vendor
The Brawl of America apologizes if you have received aggressive or repeated sales calls after providing a Brawl of America vendor with your contact information for a prize drawing. We’ve been informed by a number of our own members that they’ve received phone calls claiming they’ve won a travel package prize and claiming that in order to ensure said prize, a credit card number must be given.
While we do not have proof, we feel this is not a request a legitimate business would make. We encourage you to refuse any request for personal or financial information in order to claim a prize you have supposedly won; a reputable business would never do that.
Some examples:
- They need to “secure a promotional fee of $299 per person before they can send out the vacation package”
- The caller told him he “had won a trip to the Bahamas worth $2500, but he needed $300/person ‘to confirm/hold his space’”
- The caller said “there was a 2-day cruise to the Caribbean cruise as well as vacations to Las Vegas and to Puerta Vallarta available, but they needed $589 to ‘confirm her identity as the winner’”
